Zebra Parts?

I found these Zebra parts the other day at work. I could only imagine that they are a part of a "build your own" zebra kit. I'm sure I could figure it out pretty quick with a bit of googling, but I prefer thinking I found a rare gem. Speaking of work I started my new job yesterday and so far it's going great! I think I'm really going to like working there, and I even have a view of the outside world!

Scout is such a curious little pup. We are still having some issues with housebreaking her...and then there are the $200 sunglasses that she chewed up..but she cracks me up with her little antics. She is the worlds best watchdog, or so she thinks. The other day I was playing call of duty and she must have ran outside about 10 times to go check to see if there were dogs in the backyard. She also freaked out today when I was making popcorn when she couldn't figure out what was making all the noise coming from the microwave and started barking at it like a crazy dog.

I went and checked out the iPhone 4 last night. SO awesome. I can't wait to get it in a few weeks when I have a bit of dough. Hope everyone is having a great week!

Happy Tuesday!

The Little Girlscout

I caught the little girl smiling at me the other day. She is so cute!

Hooray for two blog posts in a row. I can't wait until I can order the new iPhone so I can take excellent pictures.

Happy Tuesday!!

Kate-Land

So I can't remember if I've ever blogged about the subject of Kateland, but it is certainly blog worthy. More than twice in my life people have mistaken me for that of a person named, Kateland. I haven't discovered if perhaps I pronounce my name funny, or if people just don't go for the obvious and think maybe my parents were being adventurous when they named me. I can only hope it's the latter...

With the help of Matt I made an awesome craigslist purchase over the weekend. Drumroll please.....
Ta-Dah! It's a 1970 Yamaha CS3! For a 40 year old bird it's in pretty good shape, but definitely needs some work. Since Matt has been working on his way rad cafe racer, we thought it'd be a good idea to get me something to putter around on as well, so the 200CC Yamaha it was, and I got it for a steal on craigslist.

Speaking of getting things for a steal, I've added some new "pieces" to the house. Granted, they aren't the most amazing pieces of decorative bliss, but for someone on a decor budget of zero, I have to work with what I've got.
I got a pair of these fab 80's club chairs for $25 a few weeks back at a garage sale. At the same sale I got this little wood table for $10 and the free lamp from my good friend Jon who got them free with his couch off of CL. They sure aren't the prettiest things, but they serve a good purpose until I can put some dough into more "modern" decor. It's not like I've got much to work with when everything is surrounded by wood paneling, but I'm grateful for what I have.
I hope everyone is having a great week! I can't wait until I have more exciting things to blog about in the coming month!

Happy Monday!

TIme Flies When You're Workin Hard!

I saw Z's Florist the other day when we were out and about and I couldn't pass up taking a picture. So the countdown is on! Only 7 more business days until I start my new job and actually have time to blog again. I'm so excited about it. I can't wait to start working out again, and getting home before dark. We've spent the last few days re-watching some Dexter. I LOVE Dexter. I'm so excited for the new season. At least now I have something to exchange for The Office. It just got to be too much of a disappointment when it lost its original funniness.Matt dressed up the pups the other day. Aren't they cute!! We've also been busy teaching Scout (the name we decided on for the new pup) the ways of being a well behaved dog. I'm pretty sure she didn't have many rules before she came to live here, but she has improved so much over the last few weeks. She's doing so good at waiting for her food, not snapping at you when you give her a treat, and so many more things. We are still working on the house training thing, but she's getting much better. Mav and Scout are already best buds. They play and wrestle constantly and its so entertaining to watch. I'm really glad they like each other and can keep each other company.
Scout is the funniest little ragdoll dog. She just lets you hold her, and she flops around all the time. So funny to watch. Matt really likes to pick her up and hold her like a little baby. I can't wait to get back to blogging everyday. I've really missed it, and I'm sure all my faithful readers have missed me as well....HA.

Happy Wednesday!

Just For Mom

One day sometime soon I promise my blogs will stop being about work. But when the only thing I do during the day is work, and then when I come home the only thing I do is work, it is hard to even think about anything but work.

SPEAKING OF WORK! I officially accepted my new job today! I scored an amazing design job which I can't wait to start. I start 3 weeks from today and I couldn't be happier to starting a new chapter of my life. I actually had two jobs that I had to decide between and it was the most difficult decision I've been faced with in a very long time. I felt like I was reading one of those books where you can pick a decision and you turn to a certain page depending on what choice you make. I feel really confident in the decision I made though so that's a good thing.

I'm so excited about the release of the new iPhone. We pre-0rder next Monday. It's everything that I was hoping it would be. Expect some new amazing blog photos coming soon, and with my new job I'll actually get to start blogging again! Which I'm super excited about as well. As much as I like the extra freelance work and moohlah I'll be excited to have some free time on my hands.

Happy Monday everyone!

Burgerz and more.

So after what has seemed like the most unrestful but relaxing weekend, it is almost Wednesday. How about that for a week that is already flying by. With the newest little addition we have been pretty busy trying to teach her the proper ways of going to the potty outdoors. She seems to be catching on pretty quick though, she just needs to learn that she can let herself outside through the doggy door.
So I was 21/31 for May on the blog tally. I realize that is super wonderful, seeing as I kind of fell of the wagon the last week or so. But still 21/31 is not bad. Reminds me of the grades I used to get on my math tests (hence why I decided to be a graphic designer)...just kidding, it's because I love it.
We haven't decided on a name for the little girl yet. We are debating between Burgerz and Pickles. Her name was Snowball, but we didn't really think that was an appropriate name so we're changing it. She doesn't seem to mind though. I'm glad we are able to give her a good home. She hasn't had a really stable upbringing so far, being bounced around between owners, but you'd never know it, she's really sweet and loving. I found her on craigslist for free, and we immediately went and scooped her up. Maverik isn't really having it though, which is funny because we got her so he could have a companion. I'm sure they'll be best buds eventually, but for now he seems to be really jealous. He's been really tolerant of her, not mean or anything, but he's been ignoring me...I think he's trying to give me the silent treatment.

I have some exciting things going on which I hope to be able to write about if all turns out well. Welcome back to blogland everyone!

Happy Tuesday!
